Riverside authorities charge ex-Roman Catholic priest with sexual abuse
Riverside, California -
An ex-Roman Catholic priest has been charged with molesting two teenage altar boys in the 1980s while serving parishes in Riverside County.
Jesus "Father Jesse" Armando Dominguez, 55, was charged Tuesday with 58 counts of sexual abuse for allegedly abusing the boys over a four-year period at parishes in Coachella and Perris. Dominguez registered as a sex offender in 2001 when he was convicted of attempting to take nude pictures of a 15-year-old La Mirada boy.
The defrocked priest may have fled to Mexico, where he may have relatives, authorities said.
"We're looking for him, working with all authorities, including Mexico," said Sgt. Earl Quinata, spokesman for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. "We're putting as many resources as possible into this. Based upon his offenses, he's a priority for us."
