Malta priests face abuse charges

Malta - Three Catholic priests in Malta have been charged with alleged child abuse dating back to the early 1980s.

The case follows statements by six men who say they were victims of sexual abuse at an all-boys institution on the island around 20 years ago.

The priests, who deny the charges, are said to have been in charge of children in a number of convents.

The court has banned publication of the priests' names and the case will be held behind closed doors.
