Orlando Man Accuses Former Priest Of Sexual Abuse

An Orlando man is suing his former parish priest and the diocese for alleged sexual abuse.
The man claims the abuse began in the late 1980s while he was a student at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and school, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.
In the suit filed Wednesday, the man known only as John Doe claims Rev. Richard Emerson gave him alcohol and showed him pornography, then subjected him to humiliating sex acts.
A spokeswoman for the Orlando diocese said the only complaint they received about Emerson during his time here was not sexual in nature. Emerson has been suspended from his current post in Gary, Ind.
