Teacher, church choir director arrested on child sex charges
Houston, Texas --
A Harris County man employed as a schoolteacher was arrested by Harris County sheriff's deputies in connection with allegations of possible child sexual abuse.
Stuart Allen Murphy, 57, was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and four counts of indecency with a child. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
Lt. Ruben Diaz of the sheriff's department confirmed that Murphy is a schoolteacher, but could not reveal the school name yet. He did release that the suspect is a volunteer choir director at Annunciation Catholic Church on Texas Avenue downtown.
